Today’s children are afflicted with significant societal pressures, unrealistic expectations of how they should look, lack of family support and role models, hunger, abuse and no hope for a happy future because life has told them it is not possible or why bother.
Not that long ago (when you were a child, perhaps?) it was very common for a child to spend a tremendous amount of time dreaming, imagining and planning for their future. Deciding if they wanted to be a doctor, or the president, maybe both! They were evolving, playing with friends, having dinner with their parents and coming home to a place that made their heart feel good.

9 Reasons for Why:
- Six million children die of hunger every year, which is one child death every 6 seconds due to starvation.
- Approximately 80% of children that die from abuse are under 4 years old.
- Babies born without a father in the house increased significantly from 18.4% in the 80's to 40.6% only 30 years later.
- Nearly 1 in to 10 high school students drop out; then 90% of those students grow into adults on welfare.
- Adolescent (age 12-17) depression is approximately 8%.
- Obesity in children has risen drastically from 5.7% to about 19% in only the last 35 years.
- Almost 25% of children live in poverty, which is a family of four making less than 23,000 in income before taxes.
- At least 50% of kids in primary or secondary school will be bullied once.
- 1 in 4 never learns how to read. 67% of children who cannot read by 4th grade will end up in jail and only 22% catch up.
